Happy New Year

Just dropping in to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

My beloved's birthday was on the 29th December, (what a rotten time to have a birthday), and this year it was spoiled by something we really couldn't forsee.
But I did make him a card....photo is rubbish , like most of the day was, think he may have an unbirthday later in the year.

As you can see it is a bit blurry but the message reads

'Live in the moment and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering '

I think I will carry this thought into 2012.

Happy New Year

Jenny's Birthday

Hiya,

Tuesday saw the Swanley Scissors Sisters Club meet for the last time in 2011, to celebrate Jenny's birthday.
Lots of lovely cards and presents and the eating of a fab buffet lunch were the order of the day.

My card was fairly similar to one I made a little while ago with a die cut from Kanban's Polka Princess sheet, but a lot glitzier.

In fact Kanban had a good day with Jeans card being made from some of their products as well.

Joans card...

and Vickys

And one from Hilda

A great time was had by all as usual as you can see

I didnt get all the details of the products used on the cards, but feel free to contact me if you want any information.

So thats all the birthdays for 2011....roll on 2012 !

Just a note...

Hiya

Everything slightly mad at the moment !

New carpet fitted yesterday, so assorted items of furniture and all the other items that clutter up a living room are scattered randomly around the house.
Dental problems still not resolved, Christmas cards still being made and promised baked items for tomorrows Eclectic Keepsakes Christmas crop still to be organised, along with the photos I have to take !

Anyway before this mayhem arrived I made a little card for a friend who I have to drop a line to.

Paper - Martha Stewart Neutrals Matt Pad
Stamps - Lady, Art Impressions P-2972, Just a note Anita's

The photo makes it look blue, but it is really sharp and crisp in black and white.
Just loving the way it looks on my mantelpiece...don't want to send it now, maybe I'll text instead....

Baby bump

Good morning everyone..

Where are you all ??? My personal blogland is very quiet, hardly any of the blogs I follow are posting and no comments on my last two posts. Where is everyone.. out Christmas shopping ?????

Anyway, following a request from my beloved, I made this card in preparation for a colleague of his who is leaving to have a baby.

The image is a digi stamp from Stamping Bella, called ' Blooming Lullubelle '. I printed it off twice , once on patterned paper, (Vintage Rose from Craftwork Cards) and after colouring in the blank one with promarkers, I decoupaged the dress, bag and flowers with the paper .

The stamps in the background of the picture were from a set by Hobby Art called Woodland Scenes.

I layered the image with Frame Pointy #1 die cut from Go Kreate, used a contrasting backing paper and added some flowers from my stash.

I'm not having a good week...my phone has broken and is off being mended and I lost a filling and half of my tooth, dentist later... :(

Wish me luck !

Ooh La la

Hello everyone

Just a quick post from a cold and grey Colchester. Weather getting more November like although we had a lovely weekend. Fresh but sunny.

Back in October I went to the Sincerely Yours papercraft show in Biggin HIll.
A good time was had by all as usual and I bought a CD by Kraftyhands Ltd. It was called Fleur Francais and contains lots of vintage papers and images.

After printing out the images and a little inking around the edges of course, I had a card for my nieces birthday.

Had a good weekend and made all the cards I need up to the end of the year ! I can show you some another time and can now get started on my Christmas cards.

It's cold outside..

We have beeen so spoilt by the weather over the last few months that I was shocked to feel so cold outside today.

My travels found me eating my lunch overlooking the sea at Clacton. It was grey and the sea muddy looking, such a change from a few weeks ago when I was last there.

Oh well, we have Christmas to look forward to !!

I have some birthday cards to make before I get going on my Christmas ones.('What you haven't started yet ?' I hear you all cry.)

So after last weeks Kanban feast, I dug out some Hunkydory. This is from a die-cut sheet from The Glamour Girls collection, 'Polka Princess'.
I have actually made quite a few cards from this sheet. They look so nice and fresh. Bandbox, I think is the word from back in the day..

Kanban Krazy...

Hello there...I seem to have gone a little Kanban crazy at the moment.

I saw the stamps of these images some time ago and loved them but never got around to buying them. Imagine how pleased I was when I saw the die cut version which was just right for the card for my daughters first wedding anniversary.

I cant believe that year has gone so fast !

I used Kanban Bella Damask - Mocha backing paper, topped with a doily, and then Catalina die cut images. Other bits and bobs from my stash.

Happy Anniversary darlings xxx

Quick and Easy

Just to show you a card I made for my sons girlfriend's birthday.

I was very pushed for time and made it from a Kanban die cut sheet, 'Birds in the sewing room '. Add a couple of flowers, some pretty Prima paper (Annalee) and its done !

As a gift for Emma I also decorated a little wooden box..

It started like this

And ended ike this

As you can see I used those Prima Alla papers again.. will put them away now and try to use something else !

Have a good weekend

Happy Birthday Hilda

At last I can show you some birthday cards I have made recently, now that they have been safely delivered to the receipients

The Swanley Scissor Sisters had a special meeting for Hildas birthday last week. A special birthday for a special lady.

I have told Hilda for ages to get her own blog, and because I was too slow !!! getting all her beautiful birthday cards onto my blog she has finally started her own. Pop on over to Hildas blog to have a look.

This is the card I made for her, a variation on a few I have made recently, but I do like them.

I used my favourite prima paper pad of the moment, Alla and a Tim Hotz die cut. The ticket stamps are from Creative Expressions, (tickets) and the charms and flowers are from my stash.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while.
I was not very well a couple of weeks ago, then I went down to Kent and I have just got back from a long weekend away. I have now got to catch up with work but hopefully will have a few more things to show you soon.

Three (or more) little birds

Had a great weekend crafting with my sis while DB was away. So nice to get together and catch up.
We tried some brayering with limited success and made a few cards.

I can't show them all at the moment because some birthdays are coming up but I did make a quick one from the paper stack I was using.

This one is a Crafty Individuals stamp on Alla-Prima paper. Along with a flower and die cut it makes a nice simple card for any occasion.

Hope you like

Lost and Found...

Little late posting them, especially as I finished both my Layouts at the Eclectic Keepsake Crop this month.
Ann Freeman took the class and came up with these lovely papers from My Minds Eye, Lost and Found 2.
They really are fab and blingy and made it very easy to do some great layouts.
I am going to put these in my family tree album.

Checked out some of the local craft shops with my friend Becca, and am hoping to have a crafty weekend with my new purchases (well I can't make it to Ally Pally so needed some retail therapy).
Watch this space.

Have a good weekend

Another Birthday Bash

At my last meeting of the Swanley Scissor Sisters Club it was Jeans birthday bash. We have a great time, crafting, eating cake and trying out all the new crafty bits the birthday girl has received !

I made a decoupage fairy card from the Linda Ravenscroft Enchanted CD. These really are lovely but there is such a lot of cutting out !

Anyway as my fellow Scissor Sisters now expect I will also show you their cards...

Aren't they all great ?

The Same but Different

Have got a bit behind with the blogging, so going to try to get up to date in chronological order !

I made this card for my nieces 21st birthday. It is almost the same as the one I made for my daughter but in a different colour.

Look what I got !!!

Men eh ? Cant live with 'em , cant live without 'em.
My wonderful SO shows little interest in my crafting life apart from saying the right things in mostly the right places, but really exceeded himself last week.
His little hobby is browsing through a well known auction site, in particular an end of line site that is based near to where we live and it was there he saw something he thought I might like.....

I kid you not, this kit is the size of a small door, with hundreds and hundreds of bits and bobs, including 2 scrapbook albums, paper, brads and ribbons.

The man done good. Thank you darling.x

Sew Serendipitist

Hi to you all,

I always wondered when I was reading other blogs about how they make cards to enter into multiple challenges.
Do they pore over the challenge list trying to incorporate many items, or is there an easier way ???
Well I think I discovered it..it's called serendipity !

I set out to make a special card for my best girl and although it didnt turn out as I had planned, (why do we have these impossible images in our head ?), I was more than happy with the result.

Upon bloghopping through the blogs that I follow, I find that I can enter this card into no less than 4 challenges ! Woo hoo !
So here we go

I was pleased with the roses. I started trying to make a completely different flower and ended up with these. More serendipity.

Recipe

Paper We R Memory Keepers - Hippity Hop pad,

I hope you like it. I would like to enter into the following challenges ;

Last lot.....

Hiya all,

Just going to show you the last few birthday cards. These are anonymous I'm afraid as they were from Joans other crafty friends, who I don't know, but they are too nice not to show.

Enough now of blogging everyone else's creations and back to my own.(When I get round to making them).

I have three cards to make this month and a date on Saturday at the Eclectic Keepsakes Crop so hopefully should have some stuff to show and tell soon.

Happy Crafting

Birthday Cards

Well Hello,

How d'ya like my new background ? Not too sure myself, but will give it a try.. what do you think ?

As promised I am going to show you the birthday cards my talented crafty Kent gals made for Joans birthday, I think I will spread it out over a few days.

Today I'll show you mine. This is a variation on a theme shown in another post. The die is from Marianne, and the papers are papermania. The lovely stamp is a craft stamper freebie, this looks great stickled up.

The next one up is Vicky's, a lovely silhouette lady

The last one today is by Jenny, I know she has been after this stamp for a long time, and I'm sorry but I forgot to get any details on it. Anyway it was worth the wait.

Right, thats all for today..got to get working :(, back tomorrow.
Please leave some comments on the cards, I love to hear from you.

My Birthday Boy

Hello all

Today is my favourite son's birthday (it's ok , I've only got one ! )
He's a lovely boy and I'm very proud of him.
So Many Happy Returns darling, see you soon.

I made this from some paper I pinched from my good friend Jean at my last Kent meet, also used her stamps and cogs..so all in all maybe my son should thank Jean for his card. I did make it though

And the insert

I loved the sentiments, they seemed really appropriate.

Anyway talking of birthdays I'll be back tomorrow to show you my Kent crafters creations from Joans birthday.
See you then x

Sunday, 24 July 2011

Hello hello I'm back again

Hi All,

So sorry I haven't posted for so long. I was on holiday on the beautiful island of Tenerife.
Upon my return we had to celebrate Joans birthday at my Kent Crafting group, and then I had to catch up with work.
Just as I was more or less up to date my MIL was admitted to hospital and time has just got away from me.
Anyway, the upside is I have a lot to share with you, so as from tomorrow I will try and post every day until I have caught up. Leaving you with some dolphin and whale watching from Tenerife

Have a de'light'ful day

Good morning all. Hope you had a good weekend. Isn't it hot ? Not that I'm complaining. Just thought I would post the chandelier card that I made at my Kent meeting last Tuesday. The stamp is a freebie from Card Stamper mag and the papers are Papermania. When I got these papers home I wondered how I'd used them , but the pad is very depleted now !

As Little Claires Challenge #10 is 'pink and brown', I'd like to enter this card.
